Royal Crown Hotel & Spa, Siem Reap l Hotel Review

We stayed here in April 2016 for three nights. Initially, the room was booked through booking.com. We made the payment when we reached the hotel. But, you need to provide a valid credit card number for them to pre-authorise.

So, for three nights we paid USD140 @ RM554. This package included hotel room, breakfast for two persons and airport picks up. They did not request a deposit from us.

On the day, a driver picked us up using Tuk-Tuk, it was a common transportation here. It took us about 15-20 mins to reach the hotel from the airport.

Once we arrived, we were offered welcome drinks and a wet towel, which was quite thoughtful of them. We reached hotel about 830am, and we’re sceptical whether early check in was allowed. But, they did, and we’re so happy about it.

Everything went smooth during check-in. The room was okay. We had a 4th floor room. The bed was king size bed and quite comfy. The bathroom had a bath tub. The shower was fantastic. But, view from our room was not so great, as construction on the site.

After a while, we realised the air- conditioning was not working properly, we decided to wait. Maybe its need longer time to cool the whole room

Until midnight, we decided to change room. They suggested a few rooms on the 4th floor, but nothing seems right for us. Either the room was noisy, or the aircon was not working properly. At last, we changed to a room on level 5 which was better. To go to level 5, you need to use the staircase, which we’re okay as long as the aircon was working.

Next morning, we had buffet breakfast. The food served quite common, eggs, bread, cereal, rice, salad. We had lunch here on one of the days; the pizza was fantastic.Should try it!

The hotel comes with two swimming pools. One big and small. The big pool was for swimming.

The hotel provided spa services with a minimum price. We opted for Khmer 60mins body massage (USD12) which was quite alright.

Besides the spa, there were two computers with the internet, just in case if you need to use it.

The hotel location was quite good. It within walking distance to restaurant, convenience store, restaurant, new night market, pub street, and hard rock cafe.

Tuk-tuk service was just right outside the hotel. It is so convenient and with a fair price they can bring you anywhere.

On the last day, the airport transfer by car cost us about USD8 for two persons. The hotel charged us USD10 so we used our tour company services.
